That peaceful drive gave me time to mentally prepare for what I knew would be an emotional and once-in-a-lifetime moment. Photographing a proposal isn’t just about getting the shot—it’s about being fully present for something incredibly meaningful.
Anticipation Before the Big Moment
As I arrived at the chapel, I quietly tucked myself away in a dark bathroom near the entrance—hidden, waiting, listening. Then I heard it. The sound of tires crunching over gravel as my clients arrived. From where I stood, I couldn’t see them yet—but I could feel the energy. I imagined their excitement, their laughter, and their awe as they took in the sweeping mountain views that make this location so iconic. I listened closely as their footsteps approached… then passed the door. That was my cue.
The Walk to Forever
I stepped out quietly and followed at a distance, capturing their descent down the aisle toward the wooden cross overlooking the mountains. Right before the moment, Abraham turned back and locked eyes with me. Without a word, we were completely in sync. He knew I was ready—and I knew what was about to happen. Then, in front of their closest friends, he dropped to one knee. The excitement, the emotion, the joy—it all unfolded so naturally.
