There is a specific kind of quiet that lives under a 100-year-old live oak tree. It’s a stillness that feels intentional, like the world is pausing to witness something sacred. As a South Carolina wedding photographer, I am constantly in awe of the beautiful backdrops God provides, but there is something truly ethereal about an Aiken, SC wedding at the historic Hopeland Gardens.

Located just a short drive from Augusta and serving as a destination favorite for Greenville couples, this 14-acre estate is wrapped in serpentine brick walls and shaded by a canopy of deodar cedars and ancient magnolias.


For Andrew and Ashlyn’s portraits, we wandered the lazy curves of the shaded paths. Between the sparkling rock fountains and the historic Joan Tower Gazebo, every corner of this garden serves as a museum-quality backdrop for an editorial-style wedding.
