Prom Season Magic: A Sunset Session at Erskine College

 

 

There is something timeless about prom season—the anticipation, the floor-length gowns, and that feeling of a major chapter closing while another begins. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing this milestone at the stunning Erskine College in Due West.


While my bags are always packed for sessions across the Carolinas—from the bustling streets of Greenville to the historic charm of Columbia—there is a special kind of peace found in the quiet, collegiate beauty of Due West.


Why Erskine College?


If you are looking for a backdrop that feels like a classic film set, Erskine is a hidden gem. During our session, we took advantage of:


The Architecture: The towering white columns and brick facades provide a sophisticated, "Old World" feel that perfectly complements formal wear.


The Light: As the sun dips behind the historic buildings, the campus is flooded with a soft, golden glow that makes every sequin and satin detail pop.


The Atmosphere: Unlike busy city parks, the campus offers a serene environment where students can relax and let their personalities shine in front of the lens.
